Senior Construction Engineer, Structural

HDR is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to join our Transportation – Construction Services group to work on the Ontario Line Project. The Senior Construction Engineer will be responsible for attending the project site, reviewing progress, verifying and validating construction works, and coordinating quality assurance reviews.

Requirements

• Attend the project site, full-time, during construction to review progress, and to verify and validate construction works are conforming to contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Implement established project verification procedures
• Liaise with contractors and client representatives
• Attend and lead internal and external meetings, as necessary
• Review and confirm contractor submitted shop drawings are in conformance to contract documents
• Coordinate quality assurance reviews with structural engineering team and with other Subject Matter Experts
• Prepare status reports, observation check lists, daily and weekly reports, and other quality documentation
• Collaboratively work with a team of construction professionals, engineers, and technologists to complete daily field observations and document system assurance items
• Mentor and oversee and train junior staff, as necessary
• Promote and oversee implementation of health and safety regulations
