Middle School Math and Computer Science Teacher

Head-Royce School is seeking a full-time Math teacher who is a culturally responsive, flexible, and enthusiastic educator to join our Middle School team as a Math teacher starting in August for the 26-27 school year.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and practice of culturally responsive teaching and learning.
• Experience teaching math, including knowledge of middle school learners and developmentally appropriate classroom management skills
• Experience teaching computer science, and or financial literacy at this developmental age.
• Collaborative, flexible colleague with Middle School teaching experience, with an ability to teach the full range of learners from grades 6 through 8.
• Clear communicator with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social/emotional development and developmentally appropriate curriculum for culturally responsive teaching and learning.
• Demonstrated understanding of and curiosity regarding curriculum design, varied pedagogical approaches as well as different styles and types of assessment.
• Experience designing lessons based in Understanding by Design (UbD).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of appropriate use of technology to enhance the learning experience.
