The Speech-Language Pathologist assesses, diagnoses and provides intervention for children with communication disorders. The Speech-Language Pathologist is also involved in health promotion and prevention work in relation to communication disorders.
Requirements
- Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Knowledge in community development
- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse social backgrounds
- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse economic backgrounds
- Ability to counsel in individual, families and group settings
- Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.
- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to develop & maintain consulting relationships in multidisciplinary team
- Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Ability to effectively handle a large caseload
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices
- Sound clinical judgement skills
- Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external contacts
