Job Description
To perform venipuncture techniques and collect and process blood specimens from patients in support of laboratory procedures. The role may require call subject to the department's discretion.
Requirements
- Knowledge of blood processing and handling procedures
- Knowledge of relevant clinical and patient care regulations, policies, procedures, and standards
- Knowledge of infection control and sterile procedures
- Interpersonal skills to allay patient fears and interact with staff
- Ability to perform standard phlebotomy procedures and techniques
- Ability to comply with clinical protocol, specifications, and procedures
- Ability to complete and maintain documents and records
