WGAL News 8 is looking for a dedicated Reporter who can effectively generate and cover important stories, write to video, and produce live shots. The successful candidate thrives in breaking news situations and is highly competitive.

Requirements

• Regularly plans, gathers and assembles stories on day-of news or special assignments
• Works with the team to gather and edit compelling video and captivating sound
• Post story content on the station website and social media platforms regularly
• Coordinates with news managers and producers to develop stories that go beyond surface details
• Develops a network of sources who provide tips, early access to information, and allow the reporter to break stories of significance
• Collaborates with photojournalists to craft visually innovative stories
• Conceptualizes visual and creative live shots
• Can juggle multiple stories and projects at once
• Occasionally operate MMJ camera and edit with Adobe Premiere
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
