Mechatronics R&D Engineer - Physical Products

Helsing is a defence AI company that aims to protect democracies. We are looking for a Mechatronics R&D Engineer to work on innovative marine robots. The role will involve designing mechanical architecture, prototyping, testing, and industrialisation of the robot's elements. The engineer will work in close collaboration with electronic engineers, roboticists, and test and production engineers to create innovative concepts and robust, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in mechatronic design, ideally for underwater robotics or similar demanding applications
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
• Outstanding hands-on experience with 3D/2D CAD and PLM tools (preferably Solidworks/PDM or Siemens NX/Teamcenter)
• Proven knowledge of ASME/ISO drawing standards, mechanical design standards, and analysis capabilities for mechanical elements
• Knowledge of the constraints associated with the underwater maritime environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
