Senior Data Scientist, Data Analytics & Reporting (N92)

The Los Angeles County Department of Homeless Services and Housing is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work on data science and analytics projects to support programs providing housing and social services to vulnerable people in Los Angeles County. The role offers an opportunity for impact across program areas, including outreach and response to unsheltered people, interim housing and temporary shelters, permanent supportive housing and case management services, and benefits entitlement programs.

Requirements

• Two years of experience carrying out complex data science projects
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Psychology, or Public Health
• Experience with using code for analytics and statistical programming (R or Python preferred)
• Thorough understanding of data governance and privacy protection
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical data science projects
