The Solar Market Intelligence Manager role serves as the central analytical and strategic hub for Hemlock Semiconductorâs solar business, bridging competitive/market intelligence, commercial strategy, government affairs, data analytics, and finance. The role translates complex global solar market dynamicsâpricing, supply chains, trade policy, and regulationâinto actionable insights for executive leadership, commercial teams, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Own endâtoâend solar market intelligence across polysilicon, wafer, cell, and module value chains, including pricing, capacity, cost structures, and supplyâdemand balances.
- Maintain and synthesize data from thirdâparty subscriptions (e.g., Bloomberg, S&P, CRU, Roth, Intertek CEA) into recurring internal updates and adâhoc analyses.
- Track global manufacturing announcements, capacity utilization, and trade flows to assess implications for U.S. market access and domestic competitiveness.
- Benchmark company performance against major global polysilicon producers.
- Support Commercial, Investor Relations, and Executive Leadership with marketâdriven insights used in pricing strategy, customer engagement, and longâterm positioning.
- Develop and maintain slide decks, dashboards, and visualizations for ELT updates and externalâfacing narratives.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders by proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and inflection points in the solar market.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Customer Service Professionals (CSPs), Planning, and Operations to support recurring business updates on the status of active solar customers.
- Act as the analytical lead and point of contact for solarârelated Government Affairs workstreams, supporting advocacy tied to:
- IRA Section 45X manufacturing tax credits, Domestic Content (ITC/PTC) guidance, UFLPA enforcement, Section 301 / Section 232 trade remedies
- Build and maintain quantitative models (e.g., domestic content % breakdowns, valueâadd vs. costâbased approaches, safe harbor sensitivity analyses) used in formal submissions and industry coalitions.
- Provide rapidâturn analysis and briefing materials for RFIs, agency meetings, and industry coordination (SEIA, SEMA, coalition partners).
- Partner with Finance and integrative supply chain planning teams teams to inform shortâ and longâterm financial forecasts, including assumptions around polysilicon pricing and demand outlooks.
- Operate as a crossâfunctional integrator, routinely collaborating with Government Affairs, Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Investor Relations, and external analysts.
- Own institutional knowledge for solar market data, methodologies, and historical assumptions; ensure continuity via documentation and repeatable models.
- Mentor junior analysts and interns, including task prioritization, analytical review, and executiveâready output.
