Powertrain Responsible Engineer

Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft. As a Powertrain Responsible Engineer, you will own the mechanical components and assemblies that generate and transmit power in all forms throughout our hypersonic vehicles.

Requirements

• Fully own critical flight hardware
• Work with system owners to architect and place components within systems
• Component level architecture and sizing
• Component design, analysis, development testing, qualification, production introduction
• Scope vehicle level operational methods and limits to ensure reliability and personnel safety through all phases of production and operation
• Making risk conscious decisions aligned with program posture
• Prioritize broad work scope to meet top company objectives
• Design/build cutting edge gearboxes, pumps, motors, and generators for hypersonic aircraft
• Design/build required testing infrastructure to validate, accept and qualify novel designs
• Work with manufacturing team to establish necessary production infrastructure to bring your designs to life
