We are seeking a hands-on Specialist Engineer to execute end-to-end performance evaluation of Nonstop Compute and Software solution having x86 processors, memory, networking, and storage subsystem components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in computer science, Electrical / Electronic / IT Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Typically, 5–10 years in system performance engineering or low-level systems development for enterprise-grade platforms
- Strong fundamentals in computer architecture: CPU pipelines, caches, memory hierarchies, prefetching, branch prediction
- Good understanding of Linux (and/or proprietary OS) internals: scheduling, memory management, I/O stacks, networking, filesystem/storage layers.
- Sound understanding of network stack and protocols, socket programming concepts, and network performance tooling (tcpdump, Wireshark, ss, ethtool).
- Good understanding of RDMA/InfiniBand (verbs, queue pairs, completion queues), SR-IOV, PVRDMA, and low-latency tuning.
- Performance engineering for NVMe, RAID, HBAs, storage controllers and related tools.
- Experience with system profilers, tracing, and flame graph techniques; skilled in experimental design and statistical rigor.
- Working knowledge of C/C++ for systems-level benchmarks compilations and fixes; strong Python and shell scripting for automation, parsing, and visualization.
- Practical experience with KVM, QEMU, VMware; knowledge of virtio, vhost, SR-IOV.
