Academic Coach

Academic Coaches are responsible for ensuring that students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum. They assist with instruction, supervision, and tutorial activities of students who may have learning differences, and monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conference upon request.

Requirements

• Assisting with the instruction and supervision of students who may have learning differences
• Assisting with tutorial activities working with an individual or group of students who may have learning differences
• Monitoring student progress and providing input for evaluation and parent conference upon request
• May administer and evaluate testing of students for general placement
• May monitor classroom/instruct in the temporary absence of a teacher
• Establishing rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to assist in improving their behavior, educational performance, and social relationships
• Performing clerical support duties including typing, and completing documents, forms, records, and correspondence; which may include note-taking for students
