High School Humanities Teacher (2026 - 2027 School Year)

High Tech High seeks a High School Humanities Teacher to join the teaching team at one of their six high schools. The ideal candidate will integrate both subject areas (English and History) to foster a deeper understanding of content in a purposeful learning environment.

Requirements

• Embodies High Tech High's design principles of Equity, Personalization, Authentic Work and Collaborative Design in all work activities and actions
• Creates daily lesson plans with project-based assignments that are engaging, educational and exciting for the kids
• Plans, prepares and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
• Incorporates goals, competencies and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to the student's life.
• Achieves school and course-wide performance goals for every student in class
• Grades assignments and homework regularly to keep students updated on how they are doing
• Identifies students who are struggling with learning, emotional problems, or situations at home, and finds them the resources they need
