Job Description
The Recreation Therapist provides recreational activities and support for assigned programs, ensuring a safe and positive environment for youth. Responsibilities include developing and delivering recreational programs, assisting youth in positive play experiences, and maintaining a safe facility. The role involves collaboration with treatment teams and participation in therapeutic planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Physical Education, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of youth recreation experience in human services
- CPR certification or obtained within 60 days of hire
- Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or obtained within 60 days of hire
- Valid NYS driver’s license and clean driving record
- Knowledge of recreation programs and team building
- Knowledge of adolescent development
