Shopify UI/UX Engineer

We're looking for a Shopify UI/UX Engineer to take full ownership of the storefront for a fast-growing DTC nutrition brand. This role involves designing and developing a live, revenue-generating Shopify storefront from day one, with a focus on user experience, performance, and accessibility. You will be responsible for creating custom theme sections, building interactive widgets, managing app integrations, and maintaining a consistent visual system across the site.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Shopify theme development including Liquid, Shopify APIs, and theme architecture
• Strong frontend fundamentals including semantic HTML, modern CSS, and responsive design
• JavaScript proficiency sufficient to build interactive widgets, handle DOM manipulation, and integrate third-party libraries
• Demonstrated design sensibility shown through a portfolio where you made real aesthetic decisions, not just implemented specs
• Experience with Shopify section and block architecture and the theme editor customization model
• Familiarity with the Shopify app ecosystem including configuring Klaviyo, review apps, and cart apps
• Fluency with Claude Code or comparable AI-assisted development tools as a natural part of your workflow
