Job Description
We are a remote-only startup looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us scale up our backend to millions of users. The role involves defining and implementing the vision behind scaling up our backend and infrastructure, ensuring platform stability and performance, and mentoring other engineers on the team.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience scaling backends from 10k+ users to millions of users
- Experience using Postgres and optimizing database load
- Experience using AWS infrastructure (Terraform a plus)
- Experience writing Javascript backend functions (serverless a plus)
- Solid understanding of best practices for both performance and security
- Familiarity with GraphQL / React / React Native nice to have but not required
- Communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally
- Reside in USA/Canada
