The Engineering Manager – Electronics Hardware leads the design and development of electronic hardware for automotive applications, guiding a team of electrical engineers and designers responsible for schematic design, PCB layout, circuit design and analysis, and validation of power, signal, and control electronics.
Requirements
- Be an effective people manager with the ability to get hands-on in technical design (schematics, circuit analysis, PCB layout review, electrical simulation, DFM/DFT, DVP&R, etc.)
- Coach and develop a team of engineers, PCB designers, and technicians, building an inclusive and high performance culture
- Own planning and execution of electronics hardware projects (requirements, resources, schedules, risk management, and release readiness)
- Define and lead platform strategy for electronics systems – power distribution, analog, digital, IO, communication networks, sensors, and control devices and peripherals
- Drive robust design reviews including: schematic, layout, DFMEA, and design verification planning to ensure robust design and validation coverage to requirements
- Collaborate closely with Systems, Embedded Software, Mechanical, and Test and Validation teams to ensure electrical designs integrate seamlessly across disciplines
- Oversee supplier development projects, approve and manage technical deliverables, and support component qualification and PPAP
- Ensure compliance with EMC, ESD, environmental, and safety requirements
- Manage New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, and Rooy Cause/Corrective Action projects with urgency, accuracy, and accountability
- Promote standardization, modularity, and reuse of electrical designs, components, and architectures across programs
