Senior Software Architect

We are looking for a Senior Software Architect to lead the technical direction of the property conveyancing platform, Homey, and improve system design, reduce technical debt, and ensure scalability, performance, and security as we grow.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software development experience
• 5+ years in an architecture or principal-level role
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails (or similar backend frameworks)
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, schema design, and performance optimisation
• Experience with APIs, background jobs, and third-party integrations (e.g., payments)
• Strong knowledge of system design, scalability, and technical trade-offs
• Experience working with large, complex production systems
• Clear communication and leadership skills
