The PLC Technician supports mill operations by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC-controlled electrical, instrumentation, and process systems, including mechanical power transmission, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical machinery and control systems
- Diagnose and resolve PLC, electrical, instrumentation, and process control issues
- Interpret PLC logic and make necessary modifications to restore or improve equipment performance
- Implement and support new control systems and upgrades
- Coordinate work activities with production and maintenance leadership
- Maintain critical backups for all computer systems and PLC programs
- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate system and component performance
- Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments and testing equipment
- Provide technical support before, during, and after construction or equipment installation projects
- Complete work orders and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs
- Use precision measurement tools to calibrate and adjust equipment
- Maintain technical knowledge through training programs, workshops, and on-the-job learning
- Comply with all OSHA, health, safety, and environmental regulations
