Requirements
- Plan a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual differences.
- Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives.
- Employ instructional techniques and media consistent with physical limitations and student needs.
- Assess student accomplishments on a regular basis and provide progress reports.
- Refer students for evaluation by district specialists as required.
- Maintain accurate records and assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluate their job performance.
- Maintain and improve professional competence, participate in district staff development, and attend staff meetings.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members.
