Job Description
The Senior Accountant, Student Financials Accounting role supports the accurate accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of student-related financial transactions at Howard University. This position involves preparing monthly student financial journal entries, completing complex reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and ASC 606.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
- Minimum of 4ā5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in higher education or public accounting
- Experience with ASC 606 or revenue accounting is strongly preferred
- Workday or large ERP system experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet strict deadlines
