Quality Tech I

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Quality Tech I, Inspection at our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners.

Requirements

• Receives router with samples of parts and verifies correct paperwork, logs, lot number and quantity on daily log sheet.
• Inspects parts to process drawings, manufacturing drawings or customer drawings.
• Dimensionally inspects parts per print, examined visually for surface defects such as nicks, scratches, improper finishes or burrs.
• Performs 1st article inspection using the process drawing to verify parts acceptability.
• Completes 1st article paperwork which includes notifying machine operator or supervisor of any non-conformance.
• Maintains CPI (Certified Production Inspection) and SPC (Statistical Process Control) in-house certifications.
• Examines defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends changes or modifications.
• Determines salvage ability of defective items.
• Measures surface finish of part.
