Child Advocate

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Lincoln County is looking for a Child Advocate to join their team in Newport, OR. The position involves supporting children and families through trauma-informed care, forensic services, and advocacy.

Requirements

• Completion of (or ability to complete within 6 months) the state’s Victim Assistance Academy or a 40-hour online equivalent
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong verbal communication and crisis-response skills
• Ability to engage children at developmentally appropriate levels
• Experience building effective working relationships with families, courts, and partner agencies
• Comfort working with psychological trauma in a professional, non-judgmental manner
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
• Experience operating as a child advocate in some capacity, preferred
