Job Description
Huawei Canada has an immediate 4/8 months internship opening for an AI Efficiency Researcher. The role involves cutting-edge research on AI system optimization, developing efficient algorithms and models, and collaborating with team members to solve technical challenges.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in mathematics and programming skills.
- Knowledge of deep learning frameworks, TensorFlow and PyTorch, with practical experience in Transformer architecture.
- Proficiency in common AI model optimization techniques, such as model quantization, pruning, and distillation.
- Familiarity with edge device development, such as mobile platforms and embedded systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, and other relevant languages.
- Experience with optimizing and deploying large language models is an asset; Publications in top-tier academic conferences or journals are assets.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; strong independent thinking and problem-solving abilities.
