ENGINEER ELECTRICAL 3

Meet HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding, the largest industrial employer in Virginia. The Electrical Engineer 3 position requires research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, project design, and implementation, as well as developing strategic plans and critical system metrics. Preferred experience in electrical infrastructure, low voltage power distribution, controls, ladder logic, programming, and integration of robotic automation, communication networks, and system design and configuration management.

Requirements

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within assigned system(s)
• Provide technical direction to maintenance personnel and controls technician team to support routine and non-routine equipment repair work
• Produce and maintain configuration control for technical documentation that govern the system design, configuration, and operation of NNS systems
• Participate in project design and implementation process for system related projects
• Develop a long-range strategic plan for improvements of assigned systems and equipment
• Develop and maintain critical system metrics
• Oversee project/system testing to ensure system meets technical requirements and operates at peak performance
