ENGINEER STRUCTURAL 3

The Structural Engineer will serve as a key team member supporting the design, analysis, integration, and testing of submarine/carrier structural systems and components to meet U.S. Navy, SUBSAFE, and shipyard standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 5 years of relevant exempt experience, or Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience, or Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
• Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and assembly processes in a shipyard environment
• Experience with FEA tools such as Teamcenter, ABAQUS and NASTRAN, FORTRAN, Matlab, python, etc. or similar
• Knowledge of structural response and design requirements for surface ship or submarines
• Structural design analysis experience
• Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with trades, management, and government customers
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills with the ability to manage small project teams
• DOD Security Clearance is preferred, but not required to start
