The Structural Engineer will serve as a key team member supporting the design, analysis, integration, and testing of submarine/carrier structural systems and components to meet U.S. Navy, SUBSAFE, and shipyard standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 5 years of relevant exempt experience, or Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience, or Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
- Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and assembly processes in a shipyard environment
- Experience with FEA tools such as Teamcenter, ABAQUS and NASTRAN, FORTRAN, Matlab, python, etc. or similar
- Knowledge of structural response and design requirements for surface ship or submarines
- Structural design analysis experience
- Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with trades, management, and government customers
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills with the ability to manage small project teams
- DOD Security Clearance is preferred, but not required to start
