SHIPFITTER EXPERIENCED - 10+ YEARS REQUIRED

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is hiring Shipfitters with a minimum of 10 or more years of experience. The role involves working with steel structures and hulls of ships, attending and becoming qualified through the shipyard's state-of-the-art welding school, and applying skills in various locations across the shipyard.

Requirements

• 10 or more years of Fitting/Fabrication experience
• 1.5 years of experience working for Newport News Shipbuilding
• Ability to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces
• Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
• Ability to lift 40 lbs
• Ability to pass Physical Agility Test
