SHIPFITTER TRAINEE - COMPLETE 3 WEEKS OF FREE TRADES TRAINING 7AM-3:30PM

Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a Shipfitter Trainee to complete 3 weeks of unpaid training in Shipfitting. The trainee will work 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, and will be required to undergo a background investigation and drug screen.

Requirements

• Pass a 3-week (UNPAID) program (120 hours)
• Willing to undergo a background investigation and drug screen
• Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb on a daily basis
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
• Ability to perform overhead work
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to be clean shaven to wear a respirator
• Ability to work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions
• Ability to work at extreme heights
• Ability to work in small, tight, confined spaces
• Ability to work any shift
