Surgery Scheduler - General Surgery

The Surgery Scheduler will provide surgical scheduling duties in the Nursing Department, maintaining and updating the surgery schedule, and communicating with patients regarding pre-operative procedures.

Requirements

• Schedules patients for surgery, completing facility paperwork
• Maintains and updated surgery schedule several times a day
• Obtains surgical prior authorizations after insurance company verification
• Completes surgeon requests in coordination with vendors and Materials Manager
• Communicates with patients regarding pre-operative procedure needs
• Consistently performs specific assigned daily and general duties
• Meets established attendance criteria and starts work promptly
• Knows and consistently implements the organizations mission and all approved policies, protocols, and procedures
• Regularly supports compliance and accreditation efforts as assigned
• Consistently demonstrates good use of time and resources
• Maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives
• Effectively communicates with patients/families and other members of health care team over the phone
• Demonstrates initiative to keep clinic flow moving through effectively prioritizing work
• Understands importance of personal contribution and demonstrates teamwork
