The Area Director of Sales & Marketing has direct oversight of sales and marketing operations for two luxury full-service hotels, The Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa and The Mission Pacific Beach Resort.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Director of Sales experience is preferred, with at least 3 years of luxury hotel experience
- Highly developed verbal & written communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients
- Strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment and multilayered marketing strategy
- Proficient in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products and adapt to new systems
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Strong organization and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and manage people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds while solving complex problems and creating a productive and engaged sales team
- Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations; maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Ability to work collaboratively with all owners, colleagues and guests
