Safety Partner

Hydro Ottawa is looking for a Safety Partner to implement corporate occupational health, safety and environment objectives and activities. The Safety Partner will conduct regular site audits, provide advisory services, and develop OHSE programs and training. The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or relevant engineering, technical or construction qualifications/certifications, and 5 years of relevant experience.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety
• Relevant engineering, technical or construction qualifications/certifications
• Journeyperson level certification in an appropriate trade
• 5 years relevant experience
• Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations
• Working knowledge of the Electrical Utility Safety Rules, Utility Work Protection Code and generally accepted electrical utility sector safety policies, best practices and standards
• Strong computer skills
• Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
• Valid driver’s license - Class G
• Successful completion of Driver Competency Assessment
• Professional designation, or the ability to attain designation within five years of the date of hire considered an asset
