Van Driver

The Van Driver is responsible for overseeing individual accounts, processing new shipments, vehicle movements, and disposition to load lines. The role requires maintaining an in-depth knowledge of account procedures and accountability for meeting specified production goals.

Requirements

• Drive a shuttle van
• Communicate work assignments to drivers and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day
• Record daily activity on a computer tablet as well as a written report
• Plan vehicle movements in a manner that results in minimal wait time for drivers and consolidate movement whenever possible
• Trouble shoot as needed to facilitate the processing of damaged units or other units requiring special attention
• Ensure a spotter is used when backing up vehicles
• Serve as a role model to other employees in both work performance and adherence to policies and procedures
• Monitor and promote cleanliness on the shuttle van and all IAP zones
• Promote the goal of safety and the prevention of on-the-job accidents resulting in injury to employees and property
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety
• Monitor, dissuade, and report any unacceptable acts of conduct of team members
• Perform other duties as assigned
