The Van Driver is responsible for overseeing individual accounts, processing new shipments, vehicle movements, and disposition to load lines. The role requires maintaining an in-depth knowledge of account procedures and accountability for meeting specified production goals.
Requirements
- Drive a shuttle van
- Communicate work assignments to drivers and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day
- Record daily activity on a computer tablet as well as a written report
- Plan vehicle movements in a manner that results in minimal wait time for drivers and consolidate movement whenever possible
- Trouble shoot as needed to facilitate the processing of damaged units or other units requiring special attention
- Ensure a spotter is used when backing up vehicles
- Serve as a role model to other employees in both work performance and adherence to policies and procedures
- Monitor and promote cleanliness on the shuttle van and all IAP zones
- Promote the goal of safety and the prevention of on-the-job accidents resulting in injury to employees and property
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety
- Monitor, dissuade, and report any unacceptable acts of conduct of team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
