Ichor has an immediate opening for an energetic Material Handler to join our logistics team! The Materials Handler is responsible for efficiently managing the shipping, receiving, storing, distribution, and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
Requirements
- Unload materials from delivery vehicles and ensure accurate quantities.
- Verify and record storage destinations based on receiving documents.
- Properly store materials in designated locations, ensuring easy retrieval when needed.
- Retrieve stored materials according to orders and move them to production or shipping areas in a timely manner, ensuring accurate order picking.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
- Properly package materials for shipment, following guidelines to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct routine cycle counts to validate inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with inventory control teams to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Utilize computer systems to locate materials within the inventory database.
- Perform tasks under direct supervision, following established guidelines and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in materials handling.
- Support and participate in the EH&S programs and activities within the company.
- Report all incidents (injuries, illnesses, near misses, spills etc), hazardous conditions, and emergencies to his/her supervisor.
- Responsible for performing a risk assessment of work activities, taking corrective and preventive actions.
- Comply with EH&S regulations/policies/programs/rules and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in audits and inspections as and when required.
- Attend EH&S training programs and takes personal responsibility for safety.
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement programs within the company to reduce waste, reduce cost, reduce errors and improve productivity.
