Senior Software Engineer - Backend

IDEXX Auckland is seeking a Senior Back End Software Engineer with a passion for data to join a new team in the Auckland office. The role involves driving the vision for data streaming and delivering new services and products for sharing and modelling data within a cloud-based veterinary application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Science /Info Systems or equivalent experience/qualifications.
• 5+ years as a Software Engineer, with proven technical leadership.
• Expertise in evolving cultures toward agility, automated testing, and DevSecOps.
• Strong in systems/software design, modern web/cloud tech (e.g., React, Go, TypeScript, Java), and deep hands-on with Kafka for event-driven streaming, plus AWS services for scalable infra.
• Agile mastery (Scrum, Kanban, etc.), plus a passion for building resilient data schemas and real-time pipelines.
