The Tax Accountant will play a key role within the Corporate Tax Team, supporting the accurate and timely completion of the Canadian, Federal, State, and Local tax compliance requirements for the Ilitch Companies.
Requirements
- Prepare Federal, State, and Local tax returns for the Ilitch Companies
- Analyze quarterly financial statements for all Ilitch Companies
- Request information for and prepare quarterly Ohio Commercial Activities Tax (CAT) returns
- Prepare quarterly Form 720 Federal Excise tax returns
- Request information for and prepare annual PCORI Excise Tax returns
- Prepare the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, and CA Enterprise Zone credit for applicable entities
- Act as the primary contact for consultants preparing the Federal Empowerment Zone credit
- Coordinate and/or prepare amended tax returns as needed
- Responsible for all communication related to income/franchise tax audits
- Perform specific tax research as required, and /or assigned
- Provide information needed for Federal, State, and Local tax returns and audits
- Monitor federal and state tax legislations, regulations, and judicial activities
- Peer review federal, state and local tax returns as assigned
- Prepare all required foreign bank account filings for all applicable Ilitch Companies and Shareholders
- Prepare Section 199A calculation for all applicable Ilitch Companies and Shareholders
- Prepare FIN 48 calculation for all applicable Ilitch Companies
- Investigate and respond to federal, state, and local tax notices
- Assist with other duties as assigned
