Legal Advisor I (Attorney)

Perform routine legal work in preparation of hearings cases, serve as hearing representative for the Secretary of State at formal proceedings, and conduct formal driver’s license hearings.

Requirements

• Perform routine legal work in preparation of hearings cases
• Confer with the public, witnesses, other attorneys and departmental personnel as it relates to the formal hearing process
• Conduct investigations and researches activities to determine facts
• Answer inquiries regarding legal matters pertaining to the administrative hearings process
• Present the State's case against the petitioner, call and question witnesses and present evidence
• Conduct formal driver’s license hearings
• Review and analyze formal hearing findings, petitioner's driving record and petitioner's eligibility for reinstatement or other driving relief
