Job Description
The PHLEBOTOMIST position is responsible for performing venous and capillary phlebotomy, collecting and processing laboratory orders, and interacting with healthcare providers and patients to ensure quality laboratory services. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of phlebotomy or medical assistant training, and relevant experience. A valid driver's license, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI clearance are required. The incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need and may be required to travel locally between system locations.
Requirements
- Completion of Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training Program or six (6) months experience performing phlebotomy
- Knowledge of coding, basic math, and payer/insurance benefits is preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general office related equipment is preferred
- Medical terminology and specimen knowledge and laboratory information system experience preferred
