Job Description
The Product Engineer II is responsible for the design of new and existing products, considering manufacturing capabilities, available machinery, material characteristics, quality programs, customer specifications, and can making standards. The individual must work closely with Product Planning to ensure accurate BOMs and work centers.
Requirements
- Operate independently with minimal oversight or direction
- Lead cross-functional teams to solve problems
- Support Production, Finance, and Sales departments with technical drawings, standardized procedures, and quote estimates
- Prepare product drawings using Solidworks
- Evaluate customer order requirements and customer drawings and specifications to support quote activities and order fulfillment
- Troubleshoot problems and effect timely solutions to maintain product flow
- Assist with other departments as assigned by the Product Engineering Manager to resolve Engineering related issues
- Maintain accurate Engineering data by making updates and corrections as needed
- Use packaging software (Cape-Pack) to prepare packaging specifications
- Verify and input data for accurate completion of BOMs and routing in an ERP system
- Follow Company personnel and product safety requirements
