Histology Technician-Research

Inova Women’s Research Center is looking for a dedicated Histology Technician 1 (HT) to join their team. This role will be Full-Time Day Shift: Monday-Friday, Shift time may vary. Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience.

Requirements

• Maintains accurate documentation such as variance forms, process specimen logs, equipment maintenance logs, etc.
• Recognizes and identifies different gross tissue structures to ensure proper orientation.
• Ensures that the tissue is embedded according to standard operating procedures.
• Communicates STAT cases, discrepancies and assists with continuous workflow.
• Embeds 35 – 40 quality cassettes per hour. Cuts 20 – 25 quality slides per hour.
• Meets any continuing education requirements to maintain certification(s) or as required by department.
