Job Description
IPS is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join their team. The role involves applying innovative, analytical, and problem-solving skills to repair industrial AC/DC electric motors, generators, gearboxes, and related equipment. Responsibilities include operating conventional manual machining tools, safely using overhead, gantry cranes, and lift trucks, and adhering to shop safety policies.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience as a machinist for electric motor repair preferred
- Ability to read micrometer measuring equipment
- Motor shop, machine shop, tool & die stamping, or oil field experience preferred
- Ability to operate manual lathes of various sizes and dimensions
- Ability to work with tolerances of +/-.001
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- 1-5 years of AC/DC motor experience preferred
- Self-starter and highly motivated person
