Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Completed all required training and registration pursuant to the Security Guard Act
• Valid NYSDOS photo I.D.
• Valid New York State Photo Driver License
• Valid Fire Guard (F-00/F-01/F-32/F-36/F-91) Certification from the New York City Fire Department
• Ability to stand or walk for a consecutive eight (8) hour shift
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to lift and carry objects similar in weight to a fire extinguisher
• Ability to sufficiently assist persons requiring aid or assistance
• Adequate eyesight to perform the visual ID check required for access
• Proficient in typing and possess computer skills
• Valid TSA Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
• OSHA certified and completed the 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training course in General Industry Safety and Health
• Two years of prior Military experience, National Guard or Military Reserves experience, NYSDOS registered New York State security guard experience, or Police Officer, Probation Officer or Corrections Officer experience
