INTERPOL is seeking a qualified candidate as a SECONDMENT - Specialized Officer (SRIAU) within the Special Representative AU. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Special Representative of INTERPOL to the African Union and assume responsibility for cooperation and liaison between INTERPOL and the AU, including terrorism, maritime security, and environmental crime.
Requirements
- Three-to-four years' university degree or other specialized higher education establishment
- Suitable legal/Law Enforcement Training
- At least 3 years' experience in law enforcement
- 10 years' experience is required if the incumbent does not have the minimum level of education required
- Experience in international police cooperation
- Experience working in an international environment
- Fluency in English and French is required
- Fluency or proficiency in at least one other official working language of the Organization
- Solid computer knowledge including knowledge of Office Suite and Internet
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Think/plan operationally and strategically
- Transform initiatives into new working practices
- Prepare written documents and visual presentations that meet professional standards
- Give presentations about INTERPOL's functions and services
- Independently analyse complex/large volume of material
- Work within a multi-faceted team concept
- Work well under pressure and meet sudden deadlines
- Willingness to work overtime when the situation dictates
