Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

Join the IPG Team as an Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering support for new and existing products. The role involves general electrical engineering tasks for the Engineering team, including electrical safety and EMC compliance.

What You Will Do

Design and develop electrical engineering solutions, manage agency compliance, and provide product support. This includes writing functional and performance requirement specifications, managing prototype fabrication and testing, and writing embedded software.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, 4-7 years of experience in product development/manufacturing, and working knowledge of electronics design, embedded software, and PLC programming.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
• 4-7 years of experience in a product development/manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of electronics design
• Proficient at Schematic Capture
• Working knowledge of embedded software; assembly and C programming
• Working knowledge of PLC programming or willingness to learn
• Experience with global Safety and EMC compliance; UL / CSA / CE
• Knowledge of Engineering documentation practices
• Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills
• Skilled in the use of PC applications including and MS Office
• Ability to work independently or with a team
