SVN-CI-02-2026_1 Senior Finance Associate (G.6)

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a related organization to the United Nations system, and this Senior Finance Associate role is based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, providing support to central administrative and financial processes.

Requirements

• Provide guidance to management and staff on procedures
• Supervise, guide and train other Finance Unit members
• Manage financial resources by ensuring the tracking and control of assets, reserves, funds, supplies, etc.
• Provide specific advice and support to project managers and/or the Mission Chief, the Sub-office on financial and administrative matters
• Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, rules and regulations
• Consolidate data in financial statements and contribute to the tracking of expenditures to ensure they remain within authorized limits
• Provide regular and punctual financial information to support informed financial decision-making
• Assist in monitoring that IOM bank account reconciliations are carried out regularly and examined by designated stakeholders
• Manage and prepare payroll by performing validity checks on monthly payroll results
• Ensure that disbursements are made on the basis of appropriate authorization and supported by valid supporting documents
• Provide assistance for audit requests and ensure the follow-up of audit recommendations
• Examine the situation and ensure the follow-up of the good management of supplier accounts in the accounting system
• Verify supplier claims to ensure their accuracy and compliance with IOM financial policies and instructions
• Assist in preparing budget, accounting, financial, statistical and other reports as needed
