Canada Life UK is looking for a qualified actuary to join the Retirement team. The successful candidate will drive forward commercial initiatives within the team, supporting technical pricing, managing stakeholders, and developing a team of actuarial students.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of UK regulatory regime, SII and IFRS 17
- Familiarity with individual annuity market and products
- Understanding of capital modelling and profit testing
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding and ability to implement/maintain an actuarial control framework
- Qualified actuary
- Familiar with R and Python coding languages
- Excellent analytical and report writing/drafting skills
- Proven communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across the actuarial function
- Willingness to take decisions independently and exercise sound judgement
- Track record of leading small teams and managing, developing and motivating technical actuarial staff
- Ability to effectively plan, organise and execute their own work
- An interested and inquisitive individual committed to ongoing professional and personal development
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the needs of the business
