Simulation Engineer, EMS: Design, develop, and configure PSCAD models for Power Plant Controller (PPC) deployments. Responsible for modeling power system equipment, steady state and transient power flow analysis, and troubleshooting control logic interactions with various OEM inverter controllers.
Requirements
- Modeling of electrical power system equipment and source impedance, steady state and transient power flow analysis.
- Creation of test plans and procedures to validate power plant controller hardware in loop testing.
- Load type modeling and transient load variant flicker.
- Knowing how to analysis power quality issues such as Voltage flicker, harmonics, and power system stability.
- Working knowledge on converter and/or inverter embedded control loops.
- Substation design and distribution automation transfer schemes.
- Digital Fault Recorders and PMU Channel streams with a Power System Dynamics understanding.
- EMS and SCADA implementation for utility-scale IBR systems or substations.
- Understanding on what digital signal processing (DSP) means the difference between analog and digital signals.
