Job Description
The HIM Technician I position involves organizing, managing, and disseminating healthcare information for Island Hospital departments and clinics, while protecting patient privacy and security according to HIPAA guidelines. The role requires experience in medical office settings, computer proficiency, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Requirements
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Computer Proficiency, must type at least 45 wpm
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the Medical Records team
- Critical thinking skills; ability to multi-task
