Adjunct Faculty - Biology

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary; part-time positions are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi the Division provides.

Requirements

• Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals
• Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy
• Submit requested information within established timelines
• Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance
• Deal with student concerns and consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues
• Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s)
• Work collaboratively with other Biology faculty and other instructors in the Science Department
• Have a strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction
• Ability to teach virtual classes (remotely via zoom)
