Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time appointments hired on a semester-by-semester, as-needed basis. Adjunct faculty are responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that helps students achieve their educational goals and for delivering effective instruction and assessment using common syllabi provided by the school.
Requirements
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach assigned courses and facilitate student learning.
- Provide students with the appropriate course syllabus and adhere to all syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grading records in accordance with college policies as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- Submit required reports and information within established timelines.
- Be available to students outside of scheduled class times to answer questions and provide academic assistance.
- Address student concerns and consult with the program coordinator when necessary to resolve issues.
- Meet all scheduled classes for contracted courses.
- Use instructional technologies (e.g., Ivy Learn, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools) as appropriate.
- Notify the program or department chair in the event of an emergency absence.
- Conduct all instructional activities with respect for diversity of individuals, learning styles, perspectives, and backgrounds, and actively promote inclusivity as part of professional practice.
