Expert Engineer AI

We're looking for an expert full-stack engineer to join our AI team and design and ship core parts of our Companion system, an agentic AI system that delivers personalized user journeys and automates key business tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and building core Companion services, shipping production AI agents and agentic workflows, and designing and evolving our AI platform so other product teams can build their own domain-specific AI agents and experts without reinventing the infrastructure.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or technical leadership role
• Strong full-stack proficiency: Node.js/TypeScript backends and React frontends
• Deep experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Solid foundation in Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitHub Actions
• Proven system design and architectural leadership capabilities
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs: prompt engineering, LLM API integration, agentic workflows, or AI-powered product features
• Expert-level proficiency with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar)
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and know when to accept, modify, or reject suggestions
• Proven ability to rapidly understand new domains and codebases and make meaningful contributions with minimal onboarding
• Strong product sense — you care about what you're building and why, not just how
