Lateral Patrol Officer

The Patrol Officer will be responsible for a variety of duties, including performing all duties of a department Police Patrol Officer, interacting positively with members of the community, and enforcing traffic laws and state statutes.

Requirements

• Must be currently or recently employed as a full-time sworn law enforcement officer in the State of Illinois
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Must be 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen at time of hire
• Valid Driver's License and the ability to operate all of the equipment in a police vehicle
• Complete State Certified Firearms Training for Police Officers prior to being armed
• Must be able to carry a Joliet Junior College Department approved firearm and successfully complete the Police Department Field Training Program
• Demonstrated ability to positively interact with a diverse college community
• Problem solving abilities
• Pass a thorough background investigation
• Must not possess any felony or misdemeanor convictions in accordance with 50 ILCS 705/6.1
• Must pass a psychological assessment, medical screening, and drug screening if required for employment
