The Patrol Officer will be responsible for a variety of duties, including performing all duties of a department Police Patrol Officer, interacting positively with members of the community, and enforcing traffic laws and state statutes.
Requirements
- Must be currently or recently employed as a full-time sworn law enforcement officer in the State of Illinois
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen at time of hire
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to operate all of the equipment in a police vehicle
- Complete State Certified Firearms Training for Police Officers prior to being armed
- Must be able to carry a Joliet Junior College Department approved firearm and successfully complete the Police Department Field Training Program
- Demonstrated ability to positively interact with a diverse college community
- Problem solving abilities
- Pass a thorough background investigation
- Must not possess any felony or misdemeanor convictions in accordance with 50 ILCS 705/6.1
- Must pass a psychological assessment, medical screening, and drug screening if required for employment
